About the Role:

Our Resource centre team in Dumfries and Annan is looking for someone with a passion for working with people affected by mental health issues looking to use their skills and experience in social support to make an impact on people’s lives to help them keep mentally well.

In this varied role, you will promote wellbeing though social, cultural and recreational support based in two locations in Dumfries and Annan resource centres. Working alongside the resource centre team, the role offers you an opportunity to develop your social support skills.

The resource centres based in Annan and Dumfries offer a safe space for people to meet, take part in meaningful activities and access peer support. There is a dedicated team of four staff in the resource centres working across the two sites. They also work closely with Support in Mind Scotland outreach and Carers services as well as employability support. Annan Resource centre is currently open one day per week and the Dumfries Resource centre is open 4 days per week. No two days are the same. There are structured groups, which are on offer, but this depends on service user choice. Activities include art, crafts, games, quizzes, bingo, fishing, outings and gardening.
